Friends of Hospice was established as Hospice of Hamblen County in 1987 as the first all-volunteer hospice in the Lakeway Area. Since that time, it has evolved into a supportive foundation to assist Medicare-Certified Hospices in the Lakeway community with providing support to hospice patients in addition to helping the bereaved in the community.
NEW PROJECT: We are embarking on a new project to open up the first end-of-life care home in the state of Tennessee. It is at 1052 Kennedy Circle in Morristown, TN. This home will provide shelter and family care when a hospice family is unable to provide that care. Presently there are no alternative choices for hospice patients in the Lakeway Area other than a nursing home or the hospital if they are unable to remain in their own home.
